Coachella Collage!

So on my first day of drawing and painting class, I got an assignment to make FIFTY collages in ONE week! The 50 collages consisted of 10 cut outs, 10 cut outs and dry medium, 10 cut outs and wet medium, 10 drawing and paintings, and 10 of anything you'd like. So after covering my work shifts and not having a social life what so ever, I actually finished!

My collage is on my experience at Coachella last year. If you don't know what Coachella is, it is a 3 day outdoor concert with over 120 bands. The music at Coachella ranges from 70’s music to top 40’s: duran duran, the strokes, them crooked vultures (with dave grohl, john paul jones and john homes), the dead weather (with jack white), local natives, floggin molly, radiohead, major lazor, sia, mumford and sons, jay-z and SO much more. You have no connection to the outside world. No phones, no computers, just you, your friends, great music and beautiful sunsets. It’s probably one of the most peaceful, mind-blowing experiences. I know I may sound overally excited about this but it really is something that is unbelievable that I think everyone should experience. Even if you don’t know any of the bands (I don’t even know most of the bands!), you get to learn about them, and I promise you out of those 120 you will like at least 20 and a couple of them will become some of your favorite bands. And if for some reason you don’t like the bands, then it’s still going to be awesome because you will be camping with some of your best friends having the time of your life. ANYWAY, uhm…the collage that I did turned out to be about 12 feet tall and even though I’m not all that satisfied with how it turned out, I think its pretty good for having a week! Here’s the process:
